Movie Review : Inception
Its a brilliant movie (more so because I had to put sooo much effort to understand it:)) but seriously hats off to the writer and director for thinking of something so out of this world and then being able to put it into a movie so beautifully well. Inception has got rave reviews everywhere anyways, so am not sure what more I can add other than to support the view.
The unfolding of the story is well paced, trying to fill the gaps slowly. The characters are well etched, with each having his own eccentricities. And something else you may notice is that the characters all have shades of grey, but no one is made into a complete villain. In fact, even with Fischer you do not know if you want Cobb to be able to plant the idea into his dream or not. And you do not even know if you want Saito to be successful in his motive or not.
And frankly it does not even matter. You don't really care if its right or wrong, you are only involved in what is happening, and how it unfolds, without really wondering about the why?[ As an aside, the biggest flaw I found in the movie was the fact that Cobb would go to such lengths to just be with his children. Why wouldn't he just shift them out of the US to be with them? ]
